I visted Portland after a 10 year absence in 2004 to visit with family and friends. When I first moved there in 1979, the Maine Central Railroad was still running GP7s down the center of Commercial Street.
But not in 2004, so I was pleasantly surprised, nearly 25 years later, to find well-worked gondolas sitting on a siding still dressed in the old Boston & Maine livery.
