Photographer Bob Ratta opens at the
Overture Center For The Arts on June 6, 2006.
Madison artist Bob Ratta, joins 3 other artists whose collaborative show “Intuitive Abstractions” features work accomplished through painting, computer and photography.
Ratta explores the relationships between texture, color and form
and then isolates the correspondent harmonies through composition
in the camera’s lens, His photographic explorations show us the
abstract universe that exists within our literal world.
By presenting images to the viewer ranging from a few scant square inches from the battered steel side of a railroad freight car to the remains of a worn and weathered Wisconsin barn facade, we are shown the world as the artist sees it, an abstract universe of vibrant colors and richly detailed textures.
Derek Hambly’s painting has been highly regarded in this country since his arrival in 1999. He lives and works in Stoughton, Wisconsin.
Mark Johnson’s digital paintings have been included in several international digital art exhibitions in the U.S. and Italy. Johnson resides in Verona, WI.
Richard Lazzaro has been a prominent advocate for abstract painting in Wisconsin for more than forty-three years as an artist and teacher. He lives in Stoughton, WI.
The show “Intuitive Abstraction” opens July 6 and runs until September 20 in Gallery One at the Overture Center.
